Energy Performance Certificates
It is compulsory that all properties for sale in the UK have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). This certificate will form part of the information needed to complete your conveyancing case. You can still market your property for sale, even if you haven’t received your certificate, so long as it has been commissioned.
An EPC contains:
- information about a property’s energy use and typical energy costs
- recommendations about how to reduce energy use and save money
An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and it is valid for 10 years.
