My Home Move reveal 37% of clients find stamp duty worst value when moving home
April 18, 2013My Home Move have been striving to find out more about their client base and today’s home mover views as they ask introducers and home movers their opinions in an online survey.
The home mover survey revealed that 86% were aware of the costs associated with moving home, however some did state that ‘hidden extras’ were a surprise factor.
Stamp duty has been highlighted as one of the worst value aspects of moving home by 37% of home movers which shows some cohesion with the results of the introducer survey.
Introducers were asked what changes to stamp duty would have the biggest impact, with 37% agreeing that reducing the £250k tier to allow second time buyers to move and increase housing supply would be the best option. 29% felt that removing the ‘slab’ approach (charged on the entire price rather than increased progressively) would have a significant impact.
