Charlotte Etheridge looks after the whole of the West and South West, possibly the largest of our regional territories. Her cool and calm manner, combined with her willingness to assist wherever possible, endears Charlotte to her many recommenders. At a time of stress and distress, she brings a quiet calm to the whole process of moving home.
What is your working history?
Prior to working for My Home Move, I worked for a Conveyancing Panel Manager called Easier2move. Before that, I worked in the Sales Team for two big corporates – Legal & General and Birmingham Midshires (who are now part of the Lloyds Banking Group).
What is your proudest moment at My Home Move?
I recently received my 10 years’ service award at our annual Customer at the Heart Awards ceremony and being recognised for my dedication and hard work over the years in front of the whole company was definitely a proud moment for me.
Before working at My Home Move, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
For several years, I volunteered as a Ranger at a local National Trust property. I was part of the team who maintained the grounds and organised any outdoor events. Having said that, working at My Home Move has definitely been my most interesting job so far.
If you could go back in time, what advice would you give to yourself before starting your career?
It might be quite cheesy, but go with your gut feel, as it is usually right.
What is your favourite film/book and favourite quote from it?
People probably won’t expect this from me, but I love Quentin Tarantino films and most of those film quotes are unrepeatable. The music is amazing though!
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
Jennifer Aniston would be my choice. She seems like a nice person and someone I’d like to know. She’s witty and fun (and always dates really good looking men!).
Do you have a motto or personal mantra?
I don’t have a personal mantra, but I read a quote recently that I really liked. “Life is like a mirror. Smile at it and it smiles back at you.” This is a quote by a lady calling herself the Peace Pilgrim.
What is on your bucket list?
I have so many things on my bucket list that it could make a post by itself. But top of my list is to live by the sea in Cornwall. The coast is such a beautiful place, so to wake up to it every day would just be a dream!
What is your biggest pet peeve about the property industry?
Top of my pet peeve list is that there’s not enough affordable housing. It is really sad to hear my niece and nephew say that they can’t ever see how they can ever own their own home because prices go up and up. As much as we’re a nation of builders, we need to build quality homes at affordable prices too.
What are your hopes for the future of the property industry?
I’m sure I’m not alone in wanting more help and advice for first-time buyers. I think that there should be more information on how to save for a deposit and what sort of financial help is available.
