Like many of you, I’ve been engrossed in what seems to be the best Summer we’ve had in a very, very long time.
It’s been a great summer of sport, with the World Cup (this is the last time we’ll mention this, I promise) and Wimbledon, as well as the longest spell of sunny weather that we’ve had for a long time.
That being said, it’s easy to get lost in the Summer. There’s no doubt that the sunshine has given us all a Vitamin D boost and people are feeling a little more relaxed than usual, but there is still hard work to be done.
For clients, the summer is one of the busiest periods in the year – the kids have broken up from school, they are planning their holidays, but they also have another goal in mind; they want to be in their new homes by the start of the next school year.
A lot of us make the mistake of thinking the school holidays are long, but when I think back to being a kid I remember them going by surprisingly quickly – and anyone who takes annual leave over the summer will know how fast a week can go by.
So, with this in mind, my call to action is simple; we’ve enjoyed the sunshine, we’ve enjoyed the break, but now we need to get on with it.
The good weather looks like it’s here to stay, so we may unbutton our collars or relax our dress codes, but it must be business as usual.
The process of getting clients from A to B is never a simple or easy task, so we must be relentless in chasing every opportunity to make this happen as quickly as possible, keeping in mind that our clients want to spend their Autumn unpacking, decorating and settling in to their cosy new homes.
Of course, we should enjoy the unseasonably beautiful British Summer that we’re having, but we should do so after truly earning that time to relax, safe in the knowledge that we pulled our socks up and got on with the job in hand.
I would like to thank our partners for their continued support over the busy summer period and I look forward to working closely with all of you to get our clients to where they want to be.
